It’s been several years already that I haven’t logged in to my first Instagram.
And it’s been a couple of years already since I deactivated my first Facebook account.
But prior to deactivating it, I actually unfollowed everybody for a couple of years already so I won’t see any updates from them.
I think this psychological change happened in me when we moved to Davao City.
And just got amplified to disconnect even more during the Pharisaic time in our local church.
Why?
I was hoping to live my life like the days of old.
A life when there’s no internet.
A life when people are not up to date with each others lives.
A life where peope hang out in real life.
A life when people share stories and ask questions.
So even then, I already started quitting on social media but I’m still not 100% successful.
Inactive
After a while, I created new FB & Insta accounts.
The only difference now is that I’m not using it to make “friends” anymore.
I still don’t use Instagram so might as well delete it.
Update: I already deleted my new Instagram accounts. 🎉
Even though I have a new Facebook account, I only use it to share Pastor Ed Lapiz’s posts about Jesusness. Also I don’t add anyone there, they are the ones who added me. And I still don’t follow them so I’m not updated with what’s going on in their lives.
I have an X (formerly Twitter) account but it’s the same as dead as I don’t have much engagement there. But I’m still using it to share about what I’m building in public.
And I also have my LinkedIn which surprisingly has been helpful to me. Some clients of mine has found me there. So that’s the only form of social media that I think I’ll be using professionally.
Bottom line
I have so many things to share but I just lost interest in sharing them to social media platforms.
Moving forward, I’ll be sharing everything here instead.
